School Re-opening Plans

Our keyworker childcare facility has been running throughout the closure period and continues to do so, but as of 1st June we have started to accept children from our Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 classes on a part-time basis.

Each year group has been split into two groups ('social bubbles') and each group attends two days per week with a day, on Wednesdays, for deep cleaning.  Each bubble has its own classroom base, toilets and playground area, and arrival and departure times are staggered to avoid groups mixing.  Children find social distancing very difficult but so far they are trying their hardest and coming up with inventive ways to socialise with the 2m gap rule.

Recognising that many children, especially younger ones, will find the distancing almost impossible, we are also ensuring lots of handwashing, cleaning of surfaces throughout the day, and provision of individual equipment and desks.

We hope to be in a position to invite more children to attend soon, but in the meantime our teachers are continuing to set learning tasks on our online platform, Seesaw.
