During the Summer Term each year the children begin to prepare for the transition to their new classes in September.  In Reception they are introduced to more formal tasks.  When the new Reception Class are having their induction afternoons the current Reception Class spend time with the Year 1s and Year 2s.  When they start in Year 1 in September they are taught more formally but also have further opportunities to learn through play as they settle.

In early July our Year 6s go to spend some time in their secondary schools, and while they are there all our classes spend time with their new teachers in their new classrooms.  Parents are invited to attend induction evenings at the beginning of September.
